Special Warfare. Irregular Warfare. Proxy Warfare. Regardless of the terminology or doctrine, the military art of fighting 'by, through and with' partners, proxies and irregular forces remains relevant in the era of strategic competition. In Europe, 16 out of 32 NATO countries have developed national resistance capabilities as part of their strategies - for deterrence, and as insurance against invaders. What do these developments mean for Australia and the Pacific? Join David Kilcullen and Andrew Maher to understand the patterns of this enduring type of warfare, from its historical roots to how modern technologies shape it.
